The Lexicon's electric land train is staying for good. It now runs every day from outside M&S on The Avenue, at £1 a ride by card, with a wheelchair space.

The Lexicon Express, the little green and red land train in Bracknell town centre, is now a permanent fixture. It started as a seasonal attraction and will now run every day, all year round.

The Lexicon announced the change on its website this week, saying it was “due to popular demand” (The Lexicon Bracknell, All aboard The Lexicon Express). The shopping centre says the train has become a visitor favourite.

Fares and times

A ride costs £1 per person per trip, and payment is by card only.

Days Hours Lunch break
Monday to Friday, including school holidays 10am to 3pm 12 noon to 1pm
Saturday, Sunday and bank holiday Mondays 11am to 5pm 1pm to 2pm on Saturdays and Sundays

The train starts and finishes outside M&S and Fenwick on The Avenue. It is electric, so it runs quietly, and it has a space for a wheelchair user.

The Lexicon said the train would not run on Monday 2 November because of a technical issue. It gave no other closure dates.

Where it has been

The train has been part of the centre’s seasonal events. This autumn it ran through a pumpkin tunnel as part of the centre’s Halloween event, which we listed in our Halloween in Bracknell round-up.

What it means for you

It is a cheap ride for small children on a shopping trip, and it now runs on ordinary weekdays as well as event weekends. Bring a card, not cash. If you are visiting on a weekday, go before 3pm.

The Lexicon has not yet announced its Christmas 2026 plans for the market, lights or Santa’s grotto. Our Santa’s grotto page and things to do in Bracknell will carry them when it does.
